In many articles we can find business experts says that we should love what you do to achieve a success. In a television talk show, a very successful business owner stated that what lead him to a success is that he loved his job. However, this is misinterpretation of love. Love should be very private and special human emotion. We can reserve love for any special person of our life such as our family or spouse. Anyone can love his job but it probably a misplaced emotion.
There was a person who had a job and got very good career in a company. He began as an ordinary auditor staff and then he took the responsibility to manage 2 restaurants. He became a General Manager of a new hotel in 3 years of his working. However, due to oil crisis on the country, his hotel lost room occupancy rapidly. Finally, his boss fired him as the boss thought that he was not capable anymore to market the hotel.
Loosing a job that we love can be heartbreaking. The achievement that are built and gained for years seems to vanish within a second. It seems the hard work seemed to be nothing. It would take quite a long time for the person who suffered the loss of a job to be healed.
Instead of loving a job, we should find a joy in doing something. Joy is different with love. Love cannot be replaced, so loosing it will affect very much to our heart. Joy is a feeling of the mind and can be replaceable. We can find joy as if we experience the sunset on the beach. Today and tomorrow we can still experience the joy of seeing the sunset. Thus, joy can be repeated but love cannot. So can the job. We can have a joy in performing the job. Once we loose it, we can find another job that we can find joy bringing about.
